LG Nexus 4 benchmarked, Android 4.2

The LG Nexus 4, under the codename Mako, has surfaced in the GLBenchmark scoreboard, securing itself a top 4 place, just behind the Pantech Vega IM-A850, Asus PadFone 2 and the Xiaomi MI-2. All of these, like the Nexus 4, are rocking a Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset with the Adreno 320 GPU.

The published information on the GLBenchmark website cites Android 4.2 as the OS running on the Nexus 4, which all but confirms the next Nexus will come with it out of box.

The new Nexus phone, thought to be called the LG Nexus 4, leaked again in two renders today in addition to a new benchmark which not only revealed its “Mako” codename but also its Android 4.2 operating system.

Both of these leaks come ahead of Google’s highly anticipated Android event on October 29th in New York City where the company figures to outline its Nexus plans. A large part of those plans will likely be the LG Nexus 4, its new Nexus phone, and one that will replace the Samsung Galaxy Nexus as the company’s latest Nexus-branded smartphone.

And while it’s still not announced, we already know quite a bit about the new LG Nexus 4 and today’s leaks only confirm what we thought already.

The evleaks Twitter account, which is a credible source, leaked two renders of the LG Nexus 4 that likely show off the LG Nexus 4′s final design. The software looks Photoshopped so don’t pay attention to that. Rather, pay attention to the design of the Nexus 4 which adds up with what we’ve seen leaked over the last few weeks.

Additionally, the device emerged in a GLBenchmark which seems to confirm not only its screen resolution but also the fact that it’s running a new version of Android, Android 4.2, which may be Key Lime Pie or, more likely, a new version of Android Jelly Bean.

Besides Android 4.2, we also see that the device is called ‘Mako’ and carriers with it an HD display. We also see a maximum frequency for the device’s processor which is around 1.5GHz. The device is rumored to possess a quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz.

Here is a full outline of its rumored and likely specifications:

    4.7-inch display with 1280×768 resolution
    1.5GHz Quad-core APQ8064 Processor (Translation: Snapdragon S4 Pro)
    16GB/8GB Storage
    8MP camera/1.3MP front-facing
    2100mAh battery
    2GB of RAM

The LG Nexus 4 still doesn’t have a release date though it remains possible that it could launch on Google’s Google Play Store shortly after the event on October 29th. We’ve also heard that, at the very least, French carrier SFR will get the Nexus 4 in December.

Fortunately, we only have a few days before we find out all the details for sure.
